2018 the last push, Casual Carper baits, the way forword from this point on (casualcarper.com)

I know its been some time since i done any sort of posting but towards the end of last year life got hectic for me and my family with a house move right before Xmas and issues with the new car, well i say car but its only has 3 wheels so technicality its a trike with a roof but thats a hole different blog, anyway back in September last year i see a post go up on face book asking for people to test a bait, normally i dont jump on these posts as most of the time the people asking for testers will still charge you for the bait and it will normally turn out that thay just needed to boost sales buy getting people to buy there bait at like a 20% discount and getting some sort of review at the same time, but this time i desided to message them and see what the deal was with there testing and pricing, and to my superise the guy that i spoke to said he would send me out a tester pack and it wasent going to cost me a thing, expecting this to be 1kg of boilies and a small bag of pop ups i went out and got the bait i was intending to use just in case i needed it, to my surprise about 2 days later was a box full of goodies witch i will list below,

  • 2.5KG of boilies in a biodegradable bag SPICED KRILL
  • 1 pot of matching size popups
  • 1 pot of matching size wafters
  • 1 pot of alternative size/ colour – wafters or popups
  • 1 pot of Pastel Wafters - White Chocolate and Orange
I opened them up as you do and the smell was spot on, the baits there selfs were not soft but not hard, it seemed like thay had rely done a good job, as with all the baits i buy i always do a 24 hour glass test to see how thay would stand up two the water and time, i checked these after the 24 hours and you could still make out the smell, thay stayed round and broke up nice between the fingers, at this point i was rel impressed, i was'nt to shore on the paper bag but by the end of the 48 i loved that as well, the white chocolate orange smelt so good that patty the jew ordered 2.5kg before we went as well.

I had not  had a very good season up to then, i mean i had had some lovely trips out on the bank and summer was good to me, i got loads of nice scenery photos but where my catch rate is concerned it may as well of been 9 months of winter fishing, the months prier to September where all pretty hit or miss, i started to think that i was doing something wrong, checking and re checking my rig's, wondering if i was starting to lose the ability to read the water and the fish i was going crazy, well with the move coming up i told the better half that i wanted to try and hit the 30lb fish mark and only had till the end of September to do so.

Me and the team desided to do a 48 at cackle hill, if you dont no the lakes there then check them out thay have a couple of lakes with some nice size fish, cat and carp up in Biddenden Kent, patty the jew took ill the 1st night and packed up home the following morning but before he left he hooked in to a big cat (on the white chocolate orange i must add) that draged him around the inland and snaped him up, micky the cook could only do 24 hours so he was gone not long after the jew, but before he packed up in the morning he had this little cracker and i had a small cat in the night both on cc moores live systems.

The following couple of days i dident have any luck on the cc moore BUT the casual carper baits was another story all together, my following time here i smashed it and done the best i had done all season here thay are, all on the casual carper baits, the jew left me his as well so the cc moore had been replaced, i was now running with casual carper white chocolate and spicy krill.

In all i had 2 carp and 3 cat, the second carp that i had would not carm down and when your on your own in the dark its hard work trying to get a shot of a carm carp let allow-en a un happy carp, so after my time here i still hadent hit my 30lb mark and i was gutted, but the fun dident stop here i was so hyped that this bait was was doing what it intended to do and the fact that i was back on the fish and i had'nt been all season that 24h later i was back, but this time it was under the stars

That night got pretty cold to the point that everything was soaked from duw, at about 5,30am my left rod just smashed off, to the point that it was hanging off the front t-bar, now i hadent tighten the clutch much at all so for it to do this i was pritty shore it was going to be a big cat, playing it it felt like a carp, i was thinking this has to be over 30lb, thay way it powered off and the fight it was giving me it had to be the one, i tired it out and got its head up and it was a massive set of eyes looking right back at me, got it netted and was still convinced it had to be over the mark, so i zero'ed out the scales and got the monster in the cradle, lifted the scales trying my best to steady the beast, looked up and there it was 29.8 so not the 30 I was hoping for but it's a new pb for me and was a lovely fish and fight along with it, i havent been since this photo was taken as family and life commitments took over, but very very soon we are getting back on that bank and im going to do my 30lb might even do 40+ but i think i can tell you that when i do it will be on casual carper baits
